You should also consider visiting The University of Oxford Shop where you’ll discover your perfect souvenir to remember your day by. And any shopping trip to Oxford would not be complete without a stop off at Oxford’s Covered Market which has been around since 1774.

Food & Drink

Eating out in Oxford is a real treat. As well as the normal chains such as Nandos, Yo! Sushi or the Gourmet Burger Kitchen there are a number of Michelin star restaurants to visit. Be sure to look around and don’t necessarily be drawn to the city centre, there are lots of establishments dotted all over.

With that said the cities best independent restaurants can be located in the East near to and on the Cowley Road which is home to a delightful Slovakian restaurant called Moya where you can also enjoy a cocktail or two.

If you are looking for a decent lunch then the previously mentioned Covered Market is home to a great deal of cafes, sandwich shops and independent eateries. If you are looking for a good takeaway lunch then be sure to try the Alpha Bar where you can sample one of their monstrous salads.

If you’re looking for things to do in Oxford either as a family or as a group of day trippers then you’ll be pleased to learn that there are so many unique attractions to visit in Oxford, some will leave you quite amazed.

Did you know that Oxford is home to the UK’s only Crocodile Zoo? Yes, that right we said Crocodiles. Located just a few miles from the A40 this incredible attraction is open all year round, except Christmas Day.

You may also be surprised to learn that you can not only visit the World’s oldest public museum the Ashmolean Museum which is home to the largest collection of Raphael drawings. Oxford really is packed full of surprises.
