Eating out in Oxford is a real treat. As well as the normal chains such as Nandos, Yo! Sushi or the Gourmet Burger Kitchen there are a number of Michelin star restaurants to visit. With that said the cities best independent restaurants can be located in the East near to and on the Cowley Road which is home to a delightful Slovakian restaurant called Moya where you can also enjoy a cocktail or two.
If you are looking for a decent lunch then the previously mentioned Covered Market is home to a great deal of cafes, sandwich shops and independent eateries. If you are looking for a good takeaway lunch then be sure to try the Alpha Bar where you can sample one of their monstrous salads.

You may also be surprised to learn that you can not only visit the World’s oldest public museum the Ashmolean Museum which is home to the largest collection of Raphael drawings. Oxford really is packed full of surprises.
